Rafael Nadal defeats Istomin

Maestro Nadal, the world’s top-ranked player and the top-seeded man at the U.S. Open, who accepted a standing ovation at the end of his 6-2, 7-6 (5), 7-5 second-round victory Friday night at the U.S. Open.

Denis Istomin left skid marks on Arthur Ashe Stadium Court, stark evidence of how hard he was trying. Istomin, a 23-year-old from Uzbekistan who is coached by his mother, drew applause from his opponent, Rafael Nadal three times after smacking extraordinary winners.

Roger Fedrer World’s Highest-Paid Tennis Players

Our look at the highest-paid tennis players typifies this kind of equality in the game. Half of the top 10 are men, and half are women. Leading the pack is Roger Federer who is light years ahead of anyone else thanks to his longtime dominance on the court and 10 lucrative sponsorship deals with the likes of Nike, Wilson, Gillette and Mercedes-Benz.

Cricket World Cup 2015 at Australia & New Zealand

The ICC has confirmed that the venue for the 2015 Cricket world cup will be Australia & New Zealand. The 1992 edition of WC took place there, where Pakistan won the cup beating England in the Finals.

Also ICC confirmed the venue for 2012 and 2014 T20 world cup is for Sri Lanka and Bangladesh respectively.

The 2013 Champions Trophy will be held in England.
